Director, Independent Advisory & Evaluation Service @CGIAR
IT
CGIAR’s Independent Advisory and Evaluation Service (IAES) implements CGIAR’s multi- year, independent evaluation plan and provides operational support as the secretariat for the Independent Science for Development Council (ISDC) and the Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (SPIA). CGIAR is a global research partnership for a food-secure future. Its science is carried out through global initiatives and research centers, CGIAR scientists, researchers, technicians, and staff working in close collaboration with hundreds of national, regional and international partners. I lead a dynamic and highly-specialized team that supports the independent functions advising CGIAR. Some of our recent results: facilitated the independent reviews of a 400 M new research portfolio spanning genetic conservation and innovation, resilient agronomy practices, and food, land and water system transformation; managed the external evaluation of an over 1 B dollar investment in 12 global agrifood research programs; administered an impact assessment grant scheme with a 5 million dollar pipeline of studies looking at innovations in the agrifood space. The supported activities generate credible evidence and advice for CGIAR stakeholders, promote learning and accountability. http: iaes.cgiar.org
