ABOUT SMERA CHANDAN
Hi, I’m Smera Chandan, and I’m currently pursuing a double major in Film & Television Production and Theatre. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling in all its forms, on stage, on screen, and in the development process behind the scenes. I’m especially passionate about amplifying underrepresented voices, particularly within the Indian American community, and contributing to a more inclusive Hollywood. This year, I’m also developing \"SMEDIA\", a creative company focused on storytelling, media, and building meaningful, culturally driven projects. In addition, I’m honored to serve on Rotary International’s Youth Advisory Council, where I engage in global conversations around leadership, service, and equity. Community impact continues to be a core part of my work and something I aim to carry into every creative space I enter. At USC, I’m actively involved in several organizations, including the Asian Pacific Cinema Association (APCA), the Trojan Filmmakers Club (TFC) as an Associate Producer, Emerging Producers in Cinema (EPIC), and Women of Cinematic Arts. These experiences have strengthened my belief in the power of collaboration and representation in shaping meaningful stories.
