ABOUT SHARON BROUGHTON
Sharon Broughton is an interim leader, consultant, instructor and leadership development trainer focused on strategic planning, governance and organizational development in the social impact sector. An alumnus of the Interim Executive Academy, Sharon is an experienced interim executive, supporting organizations in an intentional transitional leadership capacity, serving as a bridge between prior leadership and the Board\'s future plans. A dedicated Board Director, Sharon serves as a volunteer governance leader at Parkinson Canada, the Genwell Foundation, the Excellence in Literacy Foundation and Amref Health Africa in Canada. Sharon also serves on the Board of the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO). Sharon\'s background as a senior executive leader in the charitable sector, with experience provincially and nationally in complex, multi-level organizations gives her unique insights for her work as a consultant and Instructor in non-profit leadership, strategy and change with U of T\'s SCS. She has provided leadership through growth, change and transition processes, including leading through the pandemic. With a participatory, collaborative style, Sharon brings a values-based, versatile, learning-focused approach to her work, supported by a keen understanding of the challenges faced by individuals within complex organizations, particularly where revenues derive from fundraising from multiple sources (corporate, government, individual, special events etc.). Sharon is passionate about supporting both individuals and organizations to achieve impact for causes that matter, bringing her deep understanding of human resources and organizational learning, as well as her personal warmth and sense of humour to her partnership development and group facilitation processes, as well as to her consulting and leadership training. She has strong communications skills (from presentations to report writing to personalized, one-on-one coaching), and a demonstrated ability to distill challenging information with clarity to diverse audiences. Sharon transitioned from full-time executive leadership at Prince\'s Trust Canada in the fall of 2022 to launch sharonbroughton.com. Examples of projects in 20••••25 include facilitating Board and staff strategy sessions; development of strategic plans; supporting C-suite leaders with governance and strategy projects; interim executive leadership; governance and HR policy development; personalized leadership development programs; and facilitating organizational structure reviews.
