ABOUT SLOANE J. H. KOTLER

I’m a Life Sciences (Honours) student at Queen’s University with a strong foundation in emergency response, first aid, and community outreach involvement. My academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of medical science and compassionate care, with a long-term goal of pursuing a career in healthcare, particularly within pediatrics.As an Emergency Medical Responder with Magen David Adom in Israel, I gained hands-on experience providing pre-hospital care and first aid in high-pressure environments. This experience strengthened my clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to perform under pressure, and deepened my passion for emergency medicine and patient-centered care. I also hold multiple certifications including Standard First Aid with CPR-C and National Lifeguard (Pool) through the Lifesaving Society, reflecting my ongoing commitment to safety and medical readiness.At Queen’s, I continue to integrate leadership and healthcare through roles such as Executive Fundraising Coordinator for the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, where I lead campaigns, donor engagement, and large-scale fundraising initiatives. As Co-Chair of Kids4Kids, I helped raise funds and awareness for Child Life Programs at Kingston General Hospital and Almost Home, a contribution recognized with the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Faculty of Arts and Science.I’m driven by empathy, precision, and a dedication to helping others in moments that matter most. My goal is to continue developing as a healthcare professional and contribute meaningfully to advancing pediatric and emergency care.
