About Seth Libby
It has been stated and I have experienced that “we live in a society exquisitely dependent on science and technology” [Carl Sagan] and “science literacy is the artery through which the solutions of tomorrow\'s problems flow” [Neil deGrasse Tyson]. However, the solutions to tomorrow’s problems will also depend on management of resources and personnel to achieve their implementation.With this statement of purpose, I chose to pursue a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering and an MBA because it provided me with the unique opportunity to combine my engineering expertise with business management. At the same time, I managed and participated in team sports, providing me with strong leadership experience. As a result, I have enjoyed the opportunities to lead, advise, and work on projects to help transition engineering theory into pragmatic solutions- Electromagnetism, communications, and signal processing during my training at NASA and with the US Navy- Robotics, foundational elements of AI, and aerospace systems design at Georgia Tech- Operational efficiency through industrial engineering and lean implementations in the aerospace, aviation, and defense industries at Porsche Consulting and McKinsey & Co.The superimposition of these two talents combined with my natural leadership will give me the ability to fully comprehend technology implementation in business. In the distant future, I hope to be a facilitator of technology in the business word as it pushes the boundaries in product offerings and improving operational efficiency.
