About Dan Schultz

Dan Schultz got an MS from the MIT Media Lab and wrote a few popular blog posts so now he thinks he can just go around making a living by helping people (students, startups, and everyone in between) execute on their ideas and hack together prototypes.Before all that he graduated from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) with a BS in Information Systems and a minors in Mathematics and Computer Science. He won the Knight News Challenge in 2007, an opportunity that has given him a unique perspective on the state of the information industry and the needs of our communities. He has been developing digital community systems for almost a decade, and has worked for The Internet Archive, Mozilla, The Boston Globe, MIT, and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He has been effective as a system and interface designer, programmer, project manager, and strategic consultant.
