ABOUT STEVE JENKINS
Technical lead/Engineering Manager with a passion for building highly scalable solutions and growing teams.Having recently been primarily focused on management I like to keep my hands dirty with coding when I can. Mostly focused on infrastructure and backend systems lately. From setting up AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK to developing backend systems in Node.js.Since leaving university in 2012 I\'ve mostly been a JavaScript developer focusing primarily on frontend development including React however focus has recently shifted to more of a backend world.I am currently a team lead for a team of 8 within a larger engineering department of roughly 250 engineers. As part of this role I have worked closely with product managers, designers, other team leads such as marketing and CTO to develop roadmap items and execute against these.During my career I have worked with a number of frontend frameworks including react, angular, backbone, marionette. I am also very comfortable with vanilla JavaScript including WebComponents. On the backend I have used a number of Node.js frameworks including express.js and hapi.js as well as \"raw\" applications.Along with JavaScript I am proficient in HTML5 and CSS as well as many AWS infrastructure technologies including ECS, EC2, S3, SQS and lamba.In my own time I have also developed a number of Amazon Alexa Skills which have organically amassed a few thousand users.
