Create interpretive materials to engage audiences intellectually and emotionally, incorporating media, activities, and narration. Write exhibit storylines and produce audiovisual content focused on Historic Fort Wayne’s history and contemporary status as a public park. Develop brochures and signage, manage online communications, and align marketing strategies with City branding- Research, design, and install exhibitions at the Fort, collaborating with archival materials and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy. Coordinate exhibition setup, including object placement, lighting, and sound. Oversee exhibition maintenance and regularly update content and graphics. Produce educational materials such as brochures, audio guides, and interactive elements, while maintaining detailed exhibition records- Conduct research using various sources to ensure depth and accuracy. Liaise between the Detroit Historical Society and City departments for research, collections management, and best practices implementation- Plan and execute educational programs to enhance understanding of Southwest Detroit history. Engage with local schools to promote field trip options and develop educational materials for school visits. Develop recreational opportunities for community members of all ages and backgrounds- Build partnerships with community leaders and Tribal partners to share Indigenous stories and history and foster an inclusive atmosphere- Catalogue and maintaining records of documents, photographs, and other historical materials. Implement archival standards and practices to ensure long-term preservation. Develop and conduct digitization processes to enhance access to archives. Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to support exhibitions and educational programs- Oversee the preservation of collections and evaluate historic structures, recommending protection strategies while following national, state, and city preservation standards.
