ABOUT SKYE DIBNER
I have been a key part of the University of North Carolina Wilmington team, where I successfully defended a Master’s thesis on the diversity of Ulva sp. in North Carolina using molecular and morphological analyses. I then continued on at UNCW through the Shellfish Research Hatchery as a research analyst, where I am currently using molecular genetics to deepen our understanding of Eastern Oyster (Crassostrea virginica) populations over time. My academic journey at Eckerd College helped me develop my expertise. I earned a Bachelor\'s in Marine Science with a minor in Environmental Studies. There, I researched the molecular diversity of Sargassum, which not only improved my research skills but also resulted in a significant undergraduate thesis. My educational experiences have provided me with a strong foundation in using Microsoft Suite, Geneious, DNA Sequencing methods, and molecular techniques, which have reinforced my research and teaching skills.
