Leading the Washington, DC office of the Smith Brandon International, A Kreller Company After retiring from the FBI, I co-founded the business-intelligence consulting firm Smith Brandon International. In January 2020 we were acquired by The Kreller Companies and I am responsible for complex business investigations, litigation support, compliance advisory and training for our Fortune 500 and Government clients. I have been successful in dealing with all types of people, including guerrilla rebels and CEOs of multinational corporations. The work I do now is similar to what I did in the FBI — except I don\'t carry a gun anymore.I\'m very proud of the products we produce for our clients and what we can accomplish for them. We are thorough. Our analysts can find just about any piece of information that exists. We are also global — our people have worked in 167 countries in the past seven years. We use people we trust, and they trust us.

I had a 23-year career as a Special Agent of the FBI and this experience has served me well at Smith Brandon International. We conduct investigations for law firms, corporations, and individuals, and provide intelligence and risk assessment for businesses around the world. Our job is to quietly gather information for our clients without drawing attention to ourselves as we do so. As an FBI agent, I learned how to talk to people and how to get people to talk to me. I gained a wealth of knowledge and global connections that are valuable to us today. While we use a multitude of databases at Smith Brandon to glean the information we need, it is the human resources — the real people we vet, hire, and train all over the world — who can provide the information you just can\'t get out of a computer. Our clients benefit from the expertise of our people, not just the computer programs we use.
