About Skip Johnson
Skip is a Pilot, ATP, CFII, MEI and A320 Instructor/Evaluator with United Airlines in Denver, Owner of AOA Aviation LLC, an Advanced Airmanship/UPRT and Aerobatics training solution. He is a published author of several articles about STARTLE and its effect on human performance, especially for pilots and First Responders. He\'s passionate about the power of Crew Resource Management (CRM) and it\'s critical Safety benefits in aviation. Colonel (retired) Loren “Skip” Johnson is a 30 year veteran of the USAF. He served in many leadership positions throughout his career with award winning units both in the US and in combat zones abroad. In 2015 Skip retired from the Colorado Air National Guard as the 140th Wing, Mission Support Group Commander. Key assignments include Chief of the Joint Staff for the Colorado National Guard, International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Headquarters Commander, Kabul, Afghanistan and Chief of Flight Safety for the Air Warfare Center, known as Red Flag exercises, Nellis AFB, NV.Skip is a command pilot and instructor with over hours of flight time in various assignments, most notably tours with the Air Force Air Demonstration Team, the Thunderbirds and as an Adversary Tactics Aggressor Pilot/Instructor with the Air Force’s Red Flag Combat training. He was a mission commander and instructor in the T-3, T-38, F-15 and F-16. He instructs now in Cessna and Decathlon aircraft.
