About William Skertic
I have a decade of experience in data science and machine learning, in small and very large companies across healthcare, insurance, telecom, and retail. I\'ve been the first data scientist and done the end-to-end for DE/DS/ML/Ops. I\'ve built organizations that started with only me and improved established teams I joined mid-journey. My teams\' deliverables have been products in themselves as well as critical inputs to other teams and other products. Two of my teams have collectively been accountable for half a billion dollars of revenue over five years (and I know how difficult that is to quantify).I\'m a product person. My contribution always starts with value, and I\'m looking for a seat at the table that allows me to set the direction of an organization delivering that value. I\'m a bridge-builder and I\'ve found the best results come from empowering people to grow and use their unique strengths for everyone\'s benefit. My focus on individuals in addition to effective processes has given me a great team retention rate while allowing team members to grow in their own careers.MLOps is a newer focus for what is a newer field, data science. It crosses many organizational boundaries and requires new collaborations and support mechanisms from companies looking to implement this practice.
