About Shawn Karnoski
I enjoy solving the problems that are seemingly unsolvable. There is no greater reward for me professionally than to create something that allows others to realize what they define as success. The solution can be an algorithm, a product, a strategy, or a coaching plan for a team member. I appreciate the variety of solutions because I love to learn, and I value each day as a growth opportunity. My joy for problem solving and my love of learning led me to software engineering. After writing my first line of Visual Pascal in high school, I realized the potential for creativity and learning was near limitless. I have been fortunate enough to realize that potential throughout my career as I built rich client applications, web applications, and service oriented architectures in a variety of languages and technologies from Cobol to JavaScript, C#, and the.Net Framework. My desire to help others realize what they define as success brought me to leadership. Leading technical teams and departments provided the perfect union of creativity and problem solving while enabling me to become a stronger partner to the success of others. Mentoring developers into senior developers and managers, leading teams through projects that have improved the way companies do business, and reorganizing a department to increase efficiency and team morale are just some of the amazing opportunities I have had to help others succeed!I consider myself a traveler on the journey to better.
