Group presently generates Power for captive use in three locations, viz Raniganj and Durgapur in West Bengal and Durg in Chhattisgarh. Our Power generation capacity is at 71.1 MW presently, while we have begun work to expand it to MW be end of December 2009.With a view to reach the zero-enregy loss mark, our Group has set up Power Plants to recycle the waste heat gases which emit from our DRI Kilns and Blast Furnaces. Our Power Plant at Durgapur in West Bengal is also the first such to utilise solid wastes such as Dolochar and Coal Fines generated during production processes as feed for generating power.
