At age five, I stood at the perfect height to see it out of the corner of my eye—that giant, pink package of Bubblicious® bubble gum in the grocery store checkout lane. Step one: ask Mom, a typically easy target. “No!” Step two: ask Dad, a typically less easy target. “No!” I can’t say what step three was because all I remember is walking back to the car, smacking a fresh piece of Bubblicious.(I have since stopped smacking gum.) “That boy could sell ice to Eskimos,” Dad mumbled. Mom said nothing due to her preoccupation with keeping a straight face. I became a salesman that night, and I’ve continued to sell ideas and products for nearly three decades. So far, I have not had to sell ice to Eskimos (though I’d welcome the challenge). I help people get medicine. I provide solution-oriented education to healthcare providers. I empower them to navigate the process of accessing medicine. A true collaboration that results in the best outcome for each patient.
