About Sarah Hoover

In her role as a Youth Engagement Specialist with Denver Public Schools, Sarah leads a group of middle and high schoolers from across the district as they advocate for fellow students, create lasting culture change in their schools, and evaluate and provide feedback on the district\'s comprehensive sexual health education curriculum. Sarah also provides support to health teachers as they learn to teach sexual health education, and in some capacities, directly provides sexual health instruction to students across the district.Sarah is originally from Johnson City, TN, but has also lived in Memphis, Knoxville, Philadelphia, and Albuquerque. She has her M.A. in Applied Anthropology from the University of Memphis and her M.Ed. in Human Sexuality from Widener University. Sarah is now working and living in Denver, CO.Research/education focus: health disparities, patient-practitioner relationships and communication, community outreach, teen pregnancy prevention, sexological worldview, and sexual and reproductive health
