   Engaged in full-time advanced research on sustainable extractive metallurgy, with a focus on critical and strategic metals. Working in close association with IIT Kharagpur, IISc Bangalore, and Copperbelt University, Kitwe, to pioneer innovative methods for metal recovery from lean, complex, and secondary resources.Key research focus areas include: • Development of eco-efficient hydrometallurgical processes such as Solvent Extraction–Electrowinning (SX-EW) and Bioleaching for critical metals like copper, cobalt, and rare earths. • Process modeling and optimization for selective metal recovery, waste minimization, and valorisation of mining residues. • Collaborative technology transfer and field validation in partnership with academic and industrial institutions across India and Zambia. • Analytical studies and lab-scale pilot operations to support process scale-up, with attention to green chemistry principles, circular economy, and zero-discharge systems.Actively contributing to NML’s mandate to drive innovation in strategic metal extraction technologies aligned with India’s critical minerals mission and global energy transition goals.
