ABOUT SISIRA S. WITHANACHCHI

I am a PMP®-certified Project Manager with a strong foundation in international relations, sustainable development, and climate governance. At BGZ Berliner Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit mbH (Berlin International Cooperation Agency), I design and manage international cooperation projects that promote inclusive growth and environmental sustainability. My role involves cross-sector collaboration, stakeholder coordination, and translating complex development goals into actionable strategies. My academic focus on climate and environmental governance is both theoretically grounded and practice-oriented, enriched by extensive international field experience and active collaboration with civil society actors and governance bodies. This integrated approach enables me to bridge the gap between policy and practice in the design and implementation of impactful development initiatives. Additionally, my engagement with academic publications reflects a strong commitment to knowledge sharing and contributing to evidence-based development discourse. Previously, as a facilitator with UNLEASH, I supported innovation processes for SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), fostering collaboration and community-led solutions for climate resilience and economic inclusion. Known for my analytical and report writing skills, I bring a hands-on, partnership-driven approach to development, moving from facilitating dialogue to delivering measurable, inclusive results on the ground
