WORK HISTORY
Senior Commissioning Editor for Law, Medieval Studies and Early Modern History @Manchester University Press
I have been a member of the editorial team at MUP since 2023 and am responsible for commissioning in Medieval Studies, Early Modern History and Law. I’m interested in working with new and established authors to publish well-written and academically rigorous monographs and edited collections which offer new perspectives and prompt discussion within my commissioning areas for inclusion in our key series, or as standalone titles.Core areas in Medieval Studies and Early Modern History include social and cultural history, gender, medicine, material culture, race and early colonialism, and I would be particularly interested in discussing proposals which explore difficult pasts; borders and exchange with the Medieval Islamic World, Africa and Mongol Eurasia; power and elites; emotion; medieval women and masculinities; and representations of the Medieval and Early Modern. Our core areas of Law include International Law as a tool to promote equality, peace and justice, which is a key focus of our Melland Schill series which explores the role of Law in place of War, as well as Bioethics, Health and Medical Law as examined in our Contemporary Issues in Bioethics, Law and Medical Humanities series. I am also interested to discuss cutting edge research on Intellectual Property, Environmental Law, Corporate Law, Finance and Banking Law, Human Rights and Civil Liberties, and at the intersection of Law and Technology.
