ABOUT SINA NEMAZI

I currently serve as the Cybersecurity Manager for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, executing the Cybersecurity program across the FIFA World Cup 2026 (FWC26) infrastructure, protecting FIFA’s information & systems, while designing, building, testing, and implementing security infrastructure within the FWC26 environment. In my work, I collaborate with the governments of Canada, Mexico, and the United States; host cities; venue operators; and other external technical stakeholders to gather requirements and align them to the overarching FIFA Cybersecurity principles. I am a former White House Presidential Political Appointee at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) having served as Special Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Cyber, Infrastructure, Risk, and Resilience. I advised the Assistant Secretary in implementing his strategic priorities regarding cyber, infrastructure, risk, and resilience policies across the Department while working to advance the Secretary’s and Under Secretary of Policy’s overall priorities. I provided policy expertise on issues related to the intersection of geopolitical conflict and technology policy, including policy and regulation related to cybersecurity, supply chain security, artificial intelligence, critical infrastructure, and other emerging technologies. I executed the day-to-day operations of the office while also engaging with the interagency, think tanks, universities, private sector companies, and foreign partners to establish crucial partnerships in the development of diverse technology policies. I have experience in policy analysis and formulation as well as executing high-level operations. I have an M.A. in Security Studies with a concentration in U.S. National Security Policy from the Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service and a B.A. in Government, International Security, and Economics from Georgetown University.
