Crop Nutrients is Anglo American growth business developing polyhalite — a naturally occurring multi-nutrient fertiliser containing potassium, sulphur, magnesium and calcium. Its flagship asset, the Woodsmith Mine in North Yorkshire, is one of the world’s largest known polyhalite deposits. The operation includes a deep underground mine and a 37km mineral transport system to Teesside for processing and export — positioning the business to support long-term global agricultural productivity.FCCT Summary (Current Role)(Sep 2025 - Current):Support the Crop Nutrients business through a critical development phase, embedding a robust financial controls framework within a complex, pre-revenue mining environment.Lead the Management Attestation Process: Coordinate self-assessments, control evaluations, and reporting on ICFR status. Chair Tier 1 and Tier 2 stakeholder meetings, culminating in Management Attestation Letter sign-off.Strengthen the Control Environment through Remediation: Drive deficiency remediation within the business by working with control owners to design practical fixes, embed sustainable actions, and improve the consistency and reliability of key financial controls.Deploy Key ICFR Controls: Partner with business stakeholders to design and implement core ICFR controls, embedding governance within a fast-evolving operational environment and reinforcing audit readiness and building disciplined, repeatable processes as the operation scales.
