I was brought in at a time when Floww was expanding early on in their Startup years.\\\\n\\\\nSince joining, i have worked to develop many features across the platform.\\\\nI have also taken ownership and spearheading a large project to migrate the entire Floww platform from Microsoft\'s Service Fabric infrastructure on to the more modern and cost effective Kubernetes infrastructure via AKS. I\'ve been working largely independently to prototype on the engineering side while working with our infrastructure team to keep things in sync.\\\\n\\\\nThe work has included:\\\\n- Modifying our services to be compatible with containerisation and Linux.\\\\n- Containerising our services using Docker and docker builds to improve out build process.\\\\n- Using gRPC and Protobuf contracts for inter service communications\\\\n- Spinning up local development Kubernetes clusters for developers using Tilt\\\\n- Specifying Kubernetes YAML that will deploy our services with the help of Kustomize\\\\n- Writing up developer documentation and also presenting the new system to the Engineering team.\\\\n- And much more.\\\\n\\\\nI approached the project in a way that means Kubernetes can run side by side with our Service Fabric services up until the last point, reducing risk significantly over a big bang approach for such a large migration.\\\\n\\\\nI look forward to this project coming to completion and seeing what is then to come.\\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n
