ABOUT SIMON PEDLEY
I am a dispute resolution partner at Mills & Reeve LLP, specialising in substantial corporate/commercial disputes and contested trusts and estates. I have considerable expertise in contested trust matters, and deal with actions relating to contested trusts and probate, Inheritance Act claims and related matters. I am one of only four solicitors in Manchester city to be a member of the prestigious Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists, and am an associate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (having passed the advanced STEP certificates in Trust Disputes and Mediating Trust Disputes). I also run the Northern Contentious Probate Group.I also act in a broad range of company and commercial and charity sector dispute resolution matters, but I have a particular interest in disputes involving breaches of directors’ and senior employees’ duties, section 994 disputes, breach of warranty claims, and crisis managements and trustee governance in the charity sector. I am also a fully qualified solicitor advocate, and have appeared for clients in a variety of matters ranging from short, interlocutory hearings up to and including an 8 day Chancery trial. I am a member of the Solicitors’ Association of Higher Court Advocates, the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists, and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
