ABOUT SIMON GARREY
Following completion of a rewarding 23-year career in the Royal Navy, during which I have managed diverse operations spanning equipment and asset management, training and custody supervision, I am now leading the development of Naval Reservists at HQ Northwood.Skilled in training, coaching and inspiring high-performing teams, I have led from the front throughout my career to plan and deliver complex projects, manage risk and optimise operational capability, efficiency, quality and safety. This includes delivering first class support to international UK and NATO maritime operations, as well as asset planning and movement to meet demand. Regularly briefing C-Suite Executives, I\'ve also produced detailed reports for submission at Cabinet level and compiled highly sensitive operational records.Past appointments include Operations Room Manager, Maintenance & Equipment Coordinator on board a number of ships, and Security Manager at the prestigious Admiralty Citadel, HMS St Vincent, Central London. On board ship, I maintained the efficient flow of communications services throughout the Operations Room and managed staffing and equipment requirements, in complex, high-tempo and high-pressure environments. Additionally, I gained extensive experience gathering, analysing and validating complex information obtained using Tactical Data Links and compiling details reports to inform senior level decision-making.I later went on to manage the delivery of operational training covering equipment capabilities, operational planning, leadership and management to students at all levels at HMS Collingwood.
