ABOUT SIMONE GLASSOM-PICK
I am finally on the path to the career I have wanted for many years. I am studying toward a Master of Environmental Science with the aim of joining an organisation that addresses environmental risks and develops sustainable solutions where I can learn and work hard to prove myself. My main interests span AEEs, planning, policy, climate change/hazard mitigation, My thesis title is: Predicting the risk levels of environmental and ecological impact associated with climate change at Raglan New Zealand. My work history has gained me a unique skill set. After immigrating to New Zealand, while my son was young, I started and ran numerous businesses and worked in an array of industries in order to be a work at home, present Mum. Prior to this in South Africa I was involved in teaching and research at secondary and tertiary levels.I began my career in the Zoological and Medical Sciences in South Africa, taught, carried out research and attended overseas conferences. Obtained a research-based Masters Degree in Physiology. As there were no positions available at the University I worked externally while completing my thesis. As Head of Biology at a private high school, a colleague and I created Interactive BioQuiz; self-study software.
