ABOUT SIMONE FULMER GAUS
I’ve practiced law for nearly 30 years. I spent seventeen of those years in traditional firms where I almost lost myself entirely, so I left to build something different. Then, in 2016, I almost lost that too, because it turned out I had brought too much of the old dysfunction with me.That was the moment I got serious about figuring out what was actually broken. It wasn’t that we weren’t working hard enough. The problem was the system itself. The traditional model puts the owner at the top of a triangle with everything running through them. Every decision. Every answer. Every crisis. That structure burns people out, and I had dragged it right into my new firm.So I rebuilt Fulmer Sill around five pillars that actually work together: People, Pipeline, Process, Product, and Profitability. I call it The Set-Up. And it works. Our firm grew 1,200 percent in eleven years, and nobody had to lose themselves in the process.I am not a consultant. I am a practicing lawyer on a mission to change how law firms are run. I write about what is working, what has failed spectacularly, and the uncomfortable truths nobody in our profession wants to say out loud. I share the messy parts, the moments my ego was absolutely wrong, and the structure that finally allowed us to breathe again.I wrote a book about it. The Set-Up: Build What Matters. Fix What’s Broken. Finally Make Your Law Firm Work and its companion workbook. If you are exhausted, if nothing you try seems to stick, and if you are starting to wonder whether there is a better way to run your firm, let’s talk.Founder and Managing Partner, Fulmer SillCreator of The Set-UpAuthor, The Set-Up (March 2026)
