ABOUT SIMONE MODUGNO

I was born in Ferrara, after attending the Liceo Classico, since I was literally kidnapped by TV documentaries and sea films as a child, I immediately decided that when I would \"grown up\" I would have been a scientific diver and a nature documentary maker! I got my degree in biology, carrying a thesis on the benthic communities structure of the sandy sea-floors in Gorino Valley area in the Sacca di Goro (FE), at the Department of Biology and Evolution of the Ferrara University. Subsequently, I carried out and passed an internship, state exam and numerous competitions for scholarships and research grants, up to the achievement of the title of Doctor of Research in Biology, in collaboration between Ferrara University and ARPAE Emilia Romagna, carrying out various works on the Biological Early Warning System and Ecotoxicology. Than, I had the fortune to cooperate with the Marine Research Center of Cesenatico, where I still carry out Professional Consultancy on some research projects, the Emilia Romagna Region, Ravenna, Padova and Bologna University and other Partners both for research both institutional. Starting from 2018 I have held the role of Senior International Consultant on behalf of UDNP Albania and AICS. During the PhD period and during the following years of research and collaboration, however, I understand that research is for me not everything and I gradually move towards Environmental Dissemination and Didactics, passing through the creation of images and videos, both underwater and aerial and terrestrial, arriving to become a Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Director! To accommodate the strong call of the sea, in addition to becoming a sailor from an early age and taking a nautical license as a boy, I early began to approach the world of diving, obtaining the first patents around 1998, then becoming an ARA instructor, of biology, photography, video recording and nitrox mixes for the FIPSAS-CMAS. Today I\'m the FIPSAS Scientific Division Responsible and I0\'m the author of all the 5 official FIPSAS Marine Biology Manuals. To date, after almost 15 years of didactic collaborations and training activities with FIPSAS, I am Head of the FIPSAS Scientific Project and Development Group (biology area, underwater photos and videos). My life and my work activities are divided between planning in the field of research in the marine biological field, educational and training courses, photo shoots and video-film-documentary sets.
