ABOUT SIMONE DAMES VALENTE

Brand Manager for Three Ships Whisky and,4th Street Wines at Distell was my latest role. My previous role was as an Account Leader at HelloFCB in Cape Town where I managed a varied portfolio including alcohol brands; Amarula, Scottish Leader and Richelieu, baby care FMCG Purity and financial services, Investec Asset Management. As an Account Manager my responsibility was to build strong relationships with clients. By immersing myself completely into the brands I was responsible for, applying a strategic lens and understanding the key challenges of the brand, I played a valuable role in providing the best possible creative solution alongside the creative teams and all agency departments. Other experience includes working as a Gobal Marketing Intern for Amarula (at Distell), where I was exposed to a total rebranding of a well-loved brand rich in heritage which I believe has provided me with an integral foundation in marketing particularly in the alcohol industry. And as an Account Manager (in sales) for South African Breweries in the Western Cape. I attended Stellenbosch University from 2011 to 2015, completed my honours degree in History in 2014, and my postgraduate diploma in marketing in 2015.
