ABOUT SIMONE ALBERTO PLATANIA

Economist with an academic foundation in economic policy, social welfare, and sustainable growth. Holding a PhD in Economics, my work focuses on the development of policies that promote long-term economic resilience, innovation, inclusive growth, and the efficient use of financial resources. My academic background also includes studies on monetary systems and financial markets, providing a comprehensive understanding of economic frameworks.Currently, I work in international financial relations at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), where I contribute to shaping economic policy and strategy in relation to development cooperation and Italy’s participation in international development and financial institutions. My role involves advising on economic and financial issues, supporting global initiatives aimed at fostering growth, international cooperation, and economic stability, while enhancing the effectiveness of the international financial system. I analyze macroeconomic trends, provide policy recommendations, and represent Italy in global economic forums.Earlier in my career, I held leadership roles in university student organizations, including as a senator and course advisor, where I developed key leadership, organizational, and negotiation skills that continue to inform my professional approach.With a deep understanding of global economic development, economic and monetary policy, financial markets, and financial innovation, I am passionate about advancing strategies that drive sustainable growth and international cooperation. I aim to contribute to the creation of inclusive policies that ensure long-term economic stability and address both domestic and global socio-economic challenges.
