Hello, I’m Simon Chaplin, founder of The Accountants’ Mastermind.We help accountants and bookkeepers build self-sufficient practices. Our focus is on supporting practice owners with 3-10 team members, guiding them to step back from day-to-day operations and free up their time while ensuring their business thrives without constant owner involvement.With 27 years as a practicing ACCA accountant (qualified in 1997) and 14+ years coaching professionals, I’ve worked with forward-thinking leaders such as James Ashford, Michel Hemme, Jeri Williams, and collaborated with organisations like ACCA, ICAEW, and Accountex.I’m also the author of Banish the Bottleneck (Amazon), offering strategies to help accountants regain control, step back from daily operations, and create a sustainable, self-sufficient practice.When accountants and bookkeepers approach us, they’re often overwhelmed, stuck in survival mode, and unsure of how to grow. But soon I learned that entrepreneurship comes with long hours and pressure. I became stressed, burnt out, and felt like I wasn’t making progress. It took me three years to turn things around, and now, helping others avoid the same mistakes is my passion.Outside of work, I have two children, a cat named Patch, tropical fish, and chickens.
