About Simon Brooks
I am a practical sustainability leader who enjoys working on an interdisciplinary team for engineering projects. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Sustainable Engineering at Villanova University, where I studied chemical engineering as an undergraduate, with minors in engineering entrepreneurship and theology. I am also a student in the Ramboll PhD Program as an affiliated engineer at Ramboll.I strive to find innovative ways to apply my entrepreneurial mindset with an intersectional approach to help our world become more sustainable in our engineering, education, justice, and mental health care systems.I am constantly seeking to give back to my community and I am highly involved with service activities. I have served for two years as the president and engineering co-chair of Villanova\'s Doctoral Student Council, and will serve as the president of Villanova’s Graduate Student Senate. I have recently volunteered to chair the Grand Challenges Scholars Program Alumni Organization, coach high school basketball and volleyball, guest lecture at high schools and universities, coordinate TEDx conferences and curate TEDx talks as president of TEDxVillanovaU, and strategize with the Engineering Well-Being Committee and Villanova\'s Engineering Entrepreneurship Summer Institute.I am currently satisfied with my work environment as it is conducive to a healthy mental, social, spiritual, and physical lifestyle.My hobbies include volleyball, cooking & baking, and playing piano, guitar, and drums!
