ABOUT SIMON AXON

Banks do not have a data shortage. They have a decision problem.I work with European financial institutions to close the gap between AI ambition and what actually gets deployed, at scale, inside a regulated environment. That means understanding where data infrastructure is holding strategy back, where governance frameworks are not yet fit for agentic AI, and where DORA and the EU AI Act are creating board-level exposure that most organisations have not fully mapped. At Teradata, I lead financial services industry strategy across the European region. My clients include some of the region\'s largest banks and insurers. Before this, I held leadership roles in data science, business analysis and industry consultancy across Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, including time at Sainsbury\'s Group and CACI.I write regularly on AI transformation in banking, published across a number of industry journals. I speak at industry events and advise on how boards can govern AI without stalling the programmes that depend on it.If you are a bank leader thinking about how to unlock real value from AI through governance, data infrastructure, or regulatory readiness, I am worth a conversation.
