London, GB
Co-founder of Eedi and leader of big data research into the efficacy of educational resources and personalised learning. Designing our data architecture to facilitate efficient querying, resulting in an award-winning data set. Managing all data science projects to support business and product development (Python, SQL, Azure). Developing dashboards in Power BI to surface KPIs for external partners. These data analytics facilitate continuous evaluation and data security. Collaborating with Microsoft Research to develop machine learning models using our data set. This led to a partnership with Oxford University Press. Principal applicant on multiple research grants, securing >£1M in funding from Schmidt Futures, the Education Endowment Fund, and the Department for Education. Publishing papers on mathematics education and machine learning. I negotiated a partnership with Microsoft Research to develop Machine Learning algorithms to personalise learning on Eedi. Together we hosted the most popular competition at NeurIPS 2020 (the largest machine learning conference in the world) with more almost 400 teams competing and over entries. For the data we made available as part of the competition we were awarded \"Best Publicly Available Educational Data Set Prize\" in 2021.
