ABOUT SIMON WILSON
I am a professional Consultant, with an extensive background in Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Systems Engineering (SE), built upon a technical background in Communications and Information Systems (CIS). I was with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for 24 years, working in a number of Engineering, Technical Leadership and Technical Policy roles within the RAF, Army and Joint domains; latterly at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) as a Principal Engineer, initially as Command and Control Information Infrastructure (CCII) Team Leader, before becoming the senior Enterprise Architect for the Lab. Since leaving in 2014 I have been in numerous EA, SE and Cyber Security roles, mainly on contract. I am a Ministry of Defence Architecture Framework (MODAF) and NATO Architecture Framework (NAF) Practitioner and Certified in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), having applied techniques in various subject areas. In bolstering my experience in Cyber Security I have followed the academic route, obtaining a Master’s Degree in 2020.I am also a Specialist Reserve Officer with the Royal Signals in Specialist Group Information Services (SGIS), specialising in Enterprise Architecture and Cyber Security.
