Main Responsibilities: Leadership of ~380 IT professionals across all IT disciplines Overall accountability for all aspects of IT & Digital delivery Developing and leading the IT & Digital Strategies Leading large priority corporate programmes as Project Executive or Senior Supplier Management of ~£30m budget, including ~£10m of external income Management of strategic supplier relationships Maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders internally and externally Accountable to the Board Key Achievements: On taking up my position, I undertook situational analysis to determine the leadership response that was required. On determining the need was to develop IT maturity, I designed and implemented a framework for continuous improvement. The framework provided a single, common view of the priority areas on which the IT team needed to focus, as well as providing a communication vehicle for stakeholders. Within the first 9 months a number of improvements had been made, e.g. in the management of IT finances, risk management and project and programme governance. As a result of the improvements, and the transparency to the organisation, IT delivery began to improve, and confidence of stakeholders in IT increased dramatically. Using organisational transformation as a lever, I defined and delivered a new client computing model for the council. This involved moving the architecture from a one-size fits all centralised thin client, to a distributed model with MS Office 365 at the core. This was a major, multi-million pound change programme involving deploying thousands of new devices, replacing a aging EDRMS with SharePoint Online & OD4B (including data migration of 12m+ document), and moving email into the cloud. Business change and readiness was imperative to the success of the programme, and as result, this has fundamentally changed the way employees work, with significant positive shifts in mobility, productivity and service provision to citizens.
