ABOUT SIMON WILLCOCK
My main areas of expertise are producing real-world outputs that can be applied in numerous policy and business contexts via interdisciplinary projects, particularly in the tropics. I have been part of several large projects that focus on ecosystem services and social-ecological systems. I am experienced in working within a team containing broad-ranging skills in order to address complex problems in a holistic way, enabling scientific outputs to influence and impact society.I have led fieldwork campaigns in Egypt, Tanzania, Malawi, Colombia, Peru, India and Cambodia; developing understanding which I have then disseminated via speaking at conferences and workshops, as well as publishing in peer-reviewed journals and scientific reports, and through teaching. I also aim to positively influence society through my research; often through collaboration with governmental and non-governmental organisations.
