ABOUT SIMON TONG

Managing the safe deployment of FiveAI’s Automated Driving System (ADS). This includes all aspects of operational safety (e.g. safety driver training, operational safety guidance, defining ODDs, risk management, safety case development and implementation) as well as the functional software design requirements for our self-driving fleet. Prior to joining FiveAI, spent 14 years specialising in transport safety at the UK’s Transport Research Laboratory (TRL). Expertise includes all aspects of quantitative and qualitative research, consultancy and evaluation. Specialist fields include automated vehicle technology, safety management, operator fatigue, accessibility for people with disabilities, fitness to drive, risk assessment and human factors. Previously led delivery of the UK\'s first urban public trials of driverless passenger and goods vehicles
