ABOUT SIMON PRESTON

I am a dedicated and experienced educational leader with a deep commitment to neurodiversity inclusion and improving the educational experiences of all students and workplace experiences of all teachers. With a strong background in teaching, educational leadership, and management, I have spent over two decades honing my skills and knowledge in this field. My passion for neurodiversity inclusion led me to pursue an MBA in Educational Leadership and Management, which I completed with distinction in 2022. This experience not only enhanced my leadership skills but also deepened my understanding of effective management strategies within an educational context. Driven by my desire to make meaningful contributions to the field, I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education at Oxford Brookes University. My research focuses on exploring how educational leadership, management, and administration impact the lived experiences of neurodivergent teachers when compared to their neurotypical peers. By shedding light on this topic, I hope to drive positive change in educational settings and advocate for the needs and experiences of neurodivergent individuals. Looking ahead, I have two aspirations that I am eager to pursue. Firstly, I aim to develop Neurodiversity in Education CIC, an organization dedicated to championing inclusion within the neurodiverse workforce. Through this initiative, I plan to provide support, resources, and advocacy for neurodivergent teachers while promoting inclusive practices in educational settings. I am currently searching for likeminded professionals within the education field to expand the board of directors, if this resonates with you then please do reach out. My second aspiration is to open an alternative provision CIC specifically designed for students who struggle to attend school due to anxiety related to neurodiversity. By establishing a specialised school, I aim to create a supportive environment that addresses the unique needs of these students and collaborates with mainstream schools to eliminate barriers to attendance, especially relating to neurodiversity. This initiative will enable neurodivergent students to have the same opportunities for education and personal growth as their peers. I am passionate about driving change and fostering inclusive environments where every student and teacher can thrive. If you share these goals or would like to learn more about my work, please don\'t hesitate to reach out. Let\'s connect and collaborate to create a brighter future in education.
