Highly experienced arbitrator regularly appointed in some of the world’s largest and most high-profile disputes under a wide range of institutional rules including ICC, LCIA, SIAC, HKIAC, SCC and Swiss Rules. Formerly Global-Co-Head of International Arbitration at Hogan Lovells, bringing a legally rigorous, commercially pragmatic approach to the resolution of disputes. Particular focus on the oil and gas industry, regularly dealing with disputes arising under concessions, production sharing contracts, joint operating agreements, unitisation agreements and farm-in/farm-out agreements, covering both onshore and offshore fields in various parts of the world. Also has extensive experience of cases in the fields of projects and construction; banking and financial services; food and beverage; telecommunications; pharmaceutical; commodities; international investment and joint ventures. Fluent in French and Italian and dual-qualified in English law and French law, having originally qualified as a solicitor in England in 1994, then taking the Paris Bar Examinations and admitted as an Avocat à la Cour in 1997. In 2015, one of only five solicitors to be appointed Queen’s Counsel. Moved to Maitland Chambers later that same year, qualifying as a barrister. Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
