ABOUT SIMON MALATRAIT

Passionate about SDLC and DevOps/SRE philosophies, development best practices, Cloud Computing, Cloud Native technologies leading to deployment on Multi/Hybrid/Edge Cloud using Infrastructure as Code,*aaS, automation and tests.During my early career, I worked as a system and network administrator in order to acquire a global knowledge of infrastructure and hardware components on which software solutions run. This helped me understand common services and limitations pertaining to servers and networks. As a developer and DevOps, I worked for three Cloud providers on their Public Cloud platform. At iWeb and Internap, I participated in the development of a fully virtualized Cloud Platform using a Software-Defined Data Center that could be deployed on-demand. Thanks to best practices, concepts and tools such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Continuous Integration (CI), Software Define Network/Storage (SDN/SDS), Virtualization and tests at every stage of the process, the DevOps wheel has greatly improved the integrity, efficiency and stability of the overall Public Cloud allowing each teams to test their changes end-to-end in an sandboxed environment that mirrored the actual production Cloud platform.During my next experience at Globo.Tech, a dedicated server hosting company, my role consisted of designing, developing and implementing their first Public Cloud Platform which I did with success as a Lead Cloud Developer and DevOps. I also got the chance to work closely with system and network administrators with the purpose of bringing the project to a production grade level prior to the public release. My last role was at Summit Tech as Lead DevOps and SRE. Summit Tech is a R&D subcontractor on 5G technologies, chatbots, AI and IoT for World leading telecommunication companies and OEM. Working closely with GSMA and future networks initiative, Summit Tech is also a leading supplier of IMS-based IP Communications solutions delivering carrier-grade Device client/App/SDK and cloud/NFV Network Infrastructure solutions.Using a strong emphasis on DevOps/SRE philosophies, SDLC principles with IaC, IaaS, Phoenix servers, Cloud Native technologies and a variety of tests, I provided to Summit Tech CI/CD pipelines and the ability to dynamically create and provision infrastructures on multi/hybrid Cloud. I empowered each teams and clients by supplying them stable environments and processes from development to production, improving quality and stability by reducing the delta between every team at every stage of the process.
