As the Engineering Manager at a leading print chemical manufacturing site, leading the site’s engineering, maintenance, and capital projects functions. My role covers full ownership of engineering performance, safety compliance, and asset reliability, playing a key part in both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic development.I have led the development and implementation of maintenance strategies to drive machine uptime and reliability, overseeing the transition and optimisation of CMMS systems to better track PPM, work orders, and asset history. I have taken a hands-on role in shaping maintenance KPIs, from reducing downtime to aligning team training with regulatory and operational goals.My experience includes managing critical infrastructure — including rotating equipment, tanks, hoppers, and site facilities — and leading complex capital investment projects from concept through to execution. I have worked closely with contractors under strict permit-to-work and LOTO systems, ensuring full compliance with site safety standards and legislation.Alongside my technical role, ownership of engineering budget control, delivering cost-saving initiatives through negotiation with NPR suppliers and smarter service agreements. I’ve also supported wider site operations through the implementation of Opex projects, focused on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.Recently trained in CompEx 14 and the management of confined spaces, I bring a proactive approach to safety, including experience with DSEAR compliance, contractor management, and developing robust safe systems of work. I’m passionate about building capability within the team, with a strong focus on coaching, root cause analysis, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
