ABOUT SIMON LÄPPLE
Most workforce and procurement transformations don’t fail because of technology. They fail because complexity compounds faster than leadership alignment.I work with CHROs and CPOs who are scaling across Europe, where non-employee workforces, regulatory exposure, cost pressure, and board scrutiny collide. At a certain size, workforce decisions stop being operational. They become strategic, reputational, and governance-level risks.I’ve spent my career inside that tension, working at the intersection of sales, strategy, and technology, helping global organisations make sense of non-employee workforce models before they break under scale. My work typically shows up at inflection points:European market entry, regional expansion, post-acquisition integration, or when existing workforce and procurement models quietly stop working.I’ve led and supported complex, multi-country initiatives across Europe, from Sweden to Austria, while aligning stakeholders across the US, Asia-Pacific, and Africa. The common pattern I see?Procurement, HR, Legal, and Finance solving the same problem from different angles, with no single view of risk, cost, or accountability. That’s where I operate. Not as a vendor. Not as a theorist. But as a strategic partner with an extensive knowledge and network who helps leadership teams simplify decisions, align incentives, and build workforce models that hold up under scrutiny.Recently, I’ve deepened this perspective through formal Supervisory Board training, strengthening my ability to contribute at board level as both a strategic guide and a guardian of values and compliance.I’m particularly effective in environments where:• Workforce complexity is growing faster than internal capability• Europe/DACH expansion introduces unfamiliar regulatory friction• The board is asking harder questions around compliance than the dashboards can answerI enjoy working with executives who value clarity over theatre, and governance over shortcuts. If you’re navigating workforce or procurement transformation and feel the decisions are getting heavier, not simpler, we’ll probably have a productive conversation.
