ABOUT SIMON KABACINSKI

I have always resonated with this quote by Thomas Edison,\"Many of life\'s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.\" Through all the challenges, competitions, and adversity I have faced, I have come out on top by outworking all of my competitors. While studying to be an engineer at Texas A&M, I am also a leader in the Corps of Cadets. The Corps is a military-based leadership organization that develops leaders of character through adversity and peer leadership. While my peers sleep, I wake up at 5 am every morning to train with the freshmen, developing them so that they will be able to lead freshmen next year. I was awarded the position of guidion bearer, the highest leadership position a sophomore can have in the Corps for my efforts as a freshman cadet. I am currently focused on making sure the freshman can achieve their academic and career goals. This leadership experience has been a major asset in the engineering projects I have worked on. I was awarded the team lead position for a project team working through Aggies Create. I currently manage a project working with Rapscallion Motorsports to design, fabricate, and test a front heave spring system for one of their GTU class prototype racecars. As the team lead I work directly with the lead engineer responsible for this car and spearhead the design of the heave spring system. I plan to continue to develop my leadership and tenacity here at Texas A&M. The challenges I face here equip me with the necessary skills to succeed in the professional world.
