I’m a Polymer System Commissioning Engineer with over 30 years of experience working across the UK water industry and international projects. At SNF UK, I make sure polymer systems are not just installed but optimized for long-term reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.I’ve supported major UK utilities — including Thames Water, South West Water, Southern Water, Wessex Water, Severn Trent Water, and Anglian Water — as well as industries like paper, mining, and quarries. My focus is always on bridging the gap between system design and operational performance, helping sites achieve maximum efficiency and compliance.My work covers:Maximizing polymer activation and system efficiencyFine-tuning performance to site-specific needsCarrying out detailed commissioning checks (dosing, flow, dissolution, pump & control validation)Building strong customer relationships through technical excellence and supportI believe that expert commissioning is where sustainable success begins. A highlight of my career was being recognized for staying overnight at a site to manually make up polymer after a system failure, keeping operations online until replacement parts arrived.Before joining SNF in 2012, I worked with Ashbrook Simon-Hartley, BASF, and Ciba, developing customer engineering support packages, installing anti-foam control systems, working overseas, and earning an Excellence Award for service and innovation. My career began as an Apprentice Shipwright at HM Dockyard Chatham, where I built the foundations of craftsmanship, problem-solving, and teamwork that still guide me today.
