ABOUT SIMON CASTELAIN

I grew up near Paris, but most of my teenage time was spent in the mountains. I spent years chasing hundredths of a second in alpine skiing, eventually hitting #1 in France\'s ESF ranking (22/23) while bootstrapping my first business to €90K revenue on the side.At 18, I grew an interest in fintechs and made my first crypto/Web3 investments. Decentralized Finance fascinated me, an interest that led me to join ESSEC Kryptosphere, and remains a core conviction today.I then spent a summer at TotalEnergies evaluating hydrogen infrastructure across Asia, which opened the door to something I didn\'t expect: an obsession for exploration. I followed that with a semester at ESSEC Singapore, which kicked off what\'s now become 50+ countries visited. Whether it\'s hiking Patagonia, getting lost in Tokyo\'s back streets, or exploring Oman\'s ancient towns, I\'m always chasing the next place that makes me see the world differently.But my year at UC Berkeley was the turning point. While structuring a €2.85M LBO for Ski-Mojo (Wearable ski-tech startup), and being immersed in the Silicon Valley ecosystem surrounded by founders building relentlessly, I realized I wanted to get more involved with startups.That led me to where I am today: VC Analyst at OneGreen and NeoFounders, evaluating 30-40 Seed and Series A deals monthly and working with founders building the next generation of French tech.P.S.
