I joined HVPD in June 2012 as Test Installation Engineer. Prior to this I worked in the Electrical Security/Physical Security Installation Industry for over 21 years both as a Locksmith/Security Consultant and as a Systems Installation/ Service Engineer. Now a Test & Installation Engineer at HVPD, working within the Field Test and Production team, specializing in Off-Line and On Line Test services either in-house or on-site and Permanent Monitoring system installations.Over the past 9 years I have enjoyed carrying out a wide variety of on-line and off-line PD test projects for the Utility, Oil & Gas, Industrial and Marine sectors and continue to be an active member of the HVPD SHEQ team providing technical support and services to clients worldwide.Some of my site experience includes- Mobilisation globally to complete both offshore and onshore test & installation projects, including Europe, Russia, Africa, Middle East and Asia, working on projects up to and including 400 kV- Performing Online Partial Discharge (PD) testing of Cables, joints & Terminations, AIS & GIS Switchgear, Transformers, Steam & Gas Turbine Generators, Rotating Machines with TanDelta, TDR of MV & HV cables, mapping joints & PD sources/locations- Performing offline VLF with Tan Delta & PD, TDR fault location, IR, CR and PI testing of rotating machines, cables, joints & terminations- Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) of MV & LV rotating plant- Installation of a variety of permanent & temporary condition monitoring systems on switchgear and rotating machines- On-Site commissioning for permanent installations to MV switchgear.
