ABOUT SIMO KOIVISTO-RAJALA
Day-to-day operations of a company shouldn’t be person-dependant, and my highest goal is to ensure that applies to myself in the role I carry. Through systems thinking, improving processes, and making the needed tools and information available to stakeholders to make better, data-driven and analytical decisions, I aim to improve company performance and robustness; and have my biggest contribution in improving the wheel, not guarding my own position in manually keeping it turning. I’m curious and constantly eager to learn more, both professionally and generally. Apart from deepening my knowledge of rewards, I have lately been interested in the field of data science and visualization; I might have been quite proud of my Excel VBA skills five years ago, but as I recognise that ability starts to be as relevant in today’s landscape as cash is as payment method, I’m learning tools like PowerBI/PowerPivot in an effort to keep up to date. Outside the professional domain, years in amateur theatre and improvisation have made trusting those around me part of my DNA. I enjoy spreading good ideas, making people laugh and testing my nerves in the spotlight. One personal highlight was presenting in a Tedx event, and if you’re in the Helsinki area, keep an eye on the line-up of your neighbourhood stand-up club - it might provide the opportunity to evaluate whether my argument about making people laugh holds or not.
