ABOUT SILVIO VISMARA
Silvio Vismara is Vice Chancellor for Research and Professor of Corporate Finance at the University of Bergamo (Italy). He is Research Fellow at Indiana University (USA) and has held visiting appointments at the University of Ghent (Belgium), University of Augsburg (Germany), Manchester Business School (UK), Cass Business School (UK), University of Florida (USA), University of La Laguna (Spain), among others. Silvio is Editor of Small Business Economics, Executive Editor and co-Founder of the Review of Corporate Finance, Associate Editor of the Financial Review, of the Journal of Technology Transfer, of the Management Review Quarterly, and editorial board member of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, of Corporate Governance: An International Review, of Venture Capital, and of Journal of Industrial and Business Economics. He has been the guest editor of special issues in Journal of Management Studies, Small Business Economics, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Technology Transfer, Eurasian Business Review, and Journal of Industrial and Business Economics. His research on IPOs and crowdfunding has been covered by The Economist, Financial Times, and Investors Chronicle. He has received research awards: two Best Paper Awards from the European Financial Management Journal, a best paper award from the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA), a Pearson Prize for the best paper in Financial Management and best paper awards from the Academy of Management, ICSB, EFMD. His research activity has benefited from experience as consultant for the Italian Stock Exchange, as a member of the board of directors of the University of Bergamo, as well as a founder of its first academic spin-off company
