Currently a faculty member at the University of Michigan teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs in both the School of Information and the School of Music,Theatre and Dance. Research focusses on Human-computer Interaction (HCI), particularly in the areas of touch (haptics) and sound (auditory feedback). Principal investigator on an NSF grant to develop a full-page refreshable tactile display for visually impaired computer users. Actively involved in promoting the design of accessible products and technologies from the perspective of a blind person working in the field of human-computer action and interaction design.
