ABOUT SIHAM EL NAJMI

Throughout my career, I have worked on programs and projects that span multiple regions and address critical issues, including protection, women’s rights, gender equity, climate change, nutrition, social integration, sexual and reproductive health and rights, humanitarian innovation, and mental health. My current roles as a Program Manager at the Women\'s Centre of Calgary and as a Consultant Proposal Writer with the UNICEF Office of Innovation have equipped me with a unique blend of program development, grant management, donor relations, and advocacy skills. My background aligns well with the Program Officer role at Oxfam Canada.My experience in project development, particularly in working with various public and private donors, has given me a keen understanding of the intricacies of crafting successful fundraising proposals. I am skilled in results-based frameworks and theory of change, allowing me to communicate project significance and potential impact to stakeholders effectively. Moreover, my work within diverse teams and my field experience in emergencies and community-based protection have strengthened my ability to collaborate across cultures and effectively communicate with communities.At UNHCR, I successfully managed multi-year major donor accounts, leading the development and submission of planning documents, content generation, and donor reports. This experience, coupled with my grant management and fundraising expertise, has honed my ability to establish solid partnerships and maintain high compliance and reporting standards.Furthermore, my background includes engaging in campaigns and advocacy efforts to promote social cohesion and raise awareness on critical issues. This has allowed me to effectively represent organisations to donors, potential donors, and other external stakeholders.I hold a Master of Science in Security, Conflict, and International Development and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Political Science. These educational backgrounds have given me a comprehensive understanding of global challenges and the tools to address them effectively.
